About Eric Holliday

Eric Holliday, is a retired Sergeant from the New Jersey Department of Corrections, where he dedicated 25 years of service. His career began at East Jersey State Prison and evolved through roles as a Hostage Negotiator, Emergency Management Coordinator, and instructor at the Correctional Officer Academy. He also held leadership positions in the New Jersey Law Enforcement Supervisors Association, including Sergeant of Arms, President, and serving as a trustee. Mr. Holliday also was an instructor at the Correctional Officers Academy. He received extensive management and professional training through NJDOC and Texas A&M University's Engineering Extension Service. Eric's decision to run for Assembly came after being on the campaign trail and hearing from residents how much they would like to see his ideas become policy in the legislature. 

A Bordentown Township resident for 25 years, Eric has served on the Township Committee from 2015 to 2024, and in 2025 Eric Holliday was sworn in as Mayor of Bordentown Township. He made history as the first LGBTQ+ committeeman and the First LGBTQ+ Mayor in Bordentown Township. Passionate about community service, he enjoys exercising, mountain biking, camping, skiing, and playing softball. He is also an active member of the Bordentown Rotary Club and a member of the Elks Club for over 20 years.

Eric's decision to run for the committee stems from his commitment to maintaining and improving Bordentown's services, infrastructure, and community spirit. He believes in accessible and transparent local government and is dedicated to making long-term investments in the township's future, but his vision for the state can make New Jersey better. He is particularly focused on keeping taxes stable and preserving open spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Under Eric's leadership, Bordentown Township continues to be a thriving community with well-maintained parks, efficient public services, and an affordable tax rate. He is proud of his contributions to stabilizing taxes and enhancing the township's emergency management capabilities, ensuring a bright future for Bordentown's residents and now bring better policies to improve Legislative District 7 and New Jersey. 

Eric Holliday is running for Assembly to address the unchecked growth and systemic inequities impacting New Jersey’s communities.Overdevelopment and corporate interests that prioritize profits over people have worsened challenges like the housing crisis, leaving families struggling to find affordable, stable homes.

 

Meanwhile, major corporations and absentee landlords are exploiting residents, driving up costs, and displacing longtime community members. Eric has consistently stood up against reckless land development that threatens our environment and quality of life, while fighting to secure resources for essential public services like accessible public transit, great public schools, and safer neighborhoods.
